Backstage WWE News On Possible Clash At The Castle Title Match & Potential Finishes

-- WWE superstar Drew McIntyre has had an eventful last several weeks, signing a new contract with the company while also briefly capturing the World Title at WrestleMania before promptly losing it to Damian Priest. McIntyre then suffered an elbow injury which has forced him out of action to recover, putting a potential rematch against Priest on the back burner.

-- In last week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that the match between Priest and McIntyre is expected to go down at the upcoming Clash at the Castle which takes place in Glasgow, Scotland in less than a month on June 15. The report adds that the program between the two began with Priest as the babyface and McIntyre as the heel but no doubt the roles will be reversed for that match in the latter's home country.

-- It was also speculated that there are two likely finishes in this match. The first would be that McIntyre would win the title back as it would make more sense for him as champion with natural strong storylines against CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Priest while the second finish would see Punk appearing and once again costing McIntyre the match and the gold. It's no secret that WWE is banking on this feud as one of its hottest over the summer when both Punk and McIntyre are healthy.
