After speculation continues to persist that he is ready to wrestle his retirement match later this month at Saturday Night's Main Event, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg is set to return to TV next week.
According to a new report from pwinsiderelite.com, Goldberg is scheduled for this Monday's WWE Raw in Green Bay, WI and moving forward will be appearing regularly on that brand leading into Saturday Night's Main Event in Atlanta, which has long been rumored (though not yet confirmed) as the destination where he will wrestle his retirement match.
Goldberg's opponent at this time is also not clear but he last engaged with Gunther, who just won the World Heavyweight Title back from Jey Uso this ast Monday. The report added that there was an internal pitch to have Goldberg appear this past Monday, perhaps in angle related to Gunther's win, but the idea was scrapped and he's now booked for June 16.
The veteran wrestler has gone on record to indicate that he is in extensive training in preparation for his last match, but has been dealing with various injuries while preparing. Specifically, he has been trying to strengthen his shoulder to the point where he is able to give wrestling fans a strong Goldberg-type match one last time.
