WWE is ready to expand Friday Night Smackdown back to three hours in the new year and it seems like after a somewhat flat 2025, the company is looking to bolster the brand in anticipation of the longer run time.
According to Bodyslam, WWE sources have indicated that the company is looking to give the blue brand "a little bit of a boost" once they shift to three hours. Specifically, the report noted that WWE is aware that Smackdown needs a boost both on the creative and talent side and are internally discussing ways to make that happen.
Bodyslam also reports that recent Lash Legend, who has recently been called up to Smackdown from NXT, has had her work received well by WWE officials, both her in-ring matches and her performance on promos. They add that Legend has been paired with Nia Jax in order to help get her up to speed with main roster activities as quick as possible and many within the promotion are confident and expecting Legend to be one of the breakout stars of next year.
