Batista Confirms Retirement In Statement Reacting To Buzz About Teased AEW Signing

Add Dave Bautista to the list of legendary pro wrestlers who have sounded off on rumors regarding the surprise AEW signing that will be revealed at this Sunday's Revolution pay-per-view.

The former WWE Superstar and Hall Of Fame legend took to social media to address the buzz surrounding the announcement made by Paul Wight (f.k.a. The Big Show) during his debut appearance on AEW Dynamite: The Crossroads on TNT on Wednesday evening.

In regards to those asking on social media if "The Animal" Batista will be the announced All Elite Wrestling talent signing at this Sunday's AEW Revolution 2021 event, the former world champion felt it was a good time to point out the difference between wrestlers who say they are retired versus those who truly are.

"They're going to have to come up with another word that's used specifically for professional wrestlers who actually mean it when they say they're retired," wrote the pro wrestler turned actor via his official Twitter page on Thursday afternoon. "Currently the word 'retired' has zero credibility by professional wrestling standards."
