Becky Lynch lent her vocals to BT Sport for promotional purposes surrounding the upcoming UFC 264 pay-per-view featuring the highly anticipated rubber match between top-ranked lightweight contenders "The Notorious" Conor McGregor and Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier.
BT Sport released their latest promotional video on Saturday afternoon voiced by the former WWE women's champion to advertise next Saturday night's UFC 264: Poirier vs. McGregor 3 event, which is scheduled to emanate from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, airing live via ESPN+ pay-per-view, as well as BT Sport Box Office.
The Irish mega-star from WWE and one of the first female Superstars to headline WrestleMania, known as "The Man," narrates the video, which looks at fellow Irish superstar and the former UFC double-champion looking to avenge his recent loss to the Lafayette, Louisana native, with the theme being, "For the man who changed the game, we needed The Man."
On Saturday afternoon, the official UFC on BT Sport Twitter feed (@BTSportUFC) shared the video to continue the promotional machine rolling, as the road to the highly-anticipated Poirier-McGregor trilogy bout is nearing its' end, with only one week remaining before the highly-regarded MMA athletes step back into the Octagon for their third meeting.
The first fight between the two took place back at UFC 178 on September 27, 2014, with McGregor scoring a technical knockout over Poirier at the 1:46 mark of the first round in a bout that was contested in the featherweight (145-pound) division.
It would be over six years later when the two met again, this time in the lightweight (155-pound) division, with the two serving as the main event for UFC 257 at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, effectionately known to MMA fans as UFC Fight Island, back on January 23, 2021. The rematch saw Poirier score a technical knockout victory over McGregor at the 2:32 mark of the second round.
