For months now, it has been rumored and speculated that WWE Hall of Famers The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella) are preparing for a return to the squared circle with the WWE, with them even teasing who their first rivals will be upon their return when they got a little physical at this past April's WWE WrestleMania 37. Since they have already experienced being mothers with their children being a little older, the rumors of them returning to the ring have re-ignited once again.
The Bella Twins recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight, where Brie revealed that the one thing she and her sister Nikki still want to fight for and has tempted them to return to in-ring competition is the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Brie Bella said:
“The one thing is that WWE brought the Women’s Tag Team Titles in.” “We were like, ‘Wait a second, how do the Bellas not have this on the résumé?’ It’s tempting because we would love to go fight for the tag titles because that’s what we’ve always been: a tag team.”
Brie then said that another reason she wants to return to the ring is to face WWE Executive Stephanie McMahon.
Brie Bella said:
“Now that Birdie is four, and we talking about when the boys get a little older too, to have your kids watch what we used to do in that ring would be really special for us.” “I’ll never forget the moment when I wrestled Stephanie [McMahon] at Summer Slam. To see her three little girls, they were little at the time, to see their faces when we came back. They looked at their mom like she was a superhero. I want that one day. I just thought that was the coolest thing.”
Nikki Bella then said that she has already started to prepare for their in-ring return.
Nikki Bella said:
“For me, I’m definitely starting that preparation.” “I want to train hard for it. When we come back, I want to change my style in the ring a little bit. I want to make a statement.”
Brie Bella then said that they will most definitely make their return to in-ring action.
Brie Bella said:
“The Bellas are definitely going to make a comeback. We don’t know exactly when, but we said that we have one more run in us.”
