Big E Getting More Neck Scans In 3-6 Months; Talks Potential Return & New Projects

-- Injured WWE superstar Big E hasn't wrestled in two-and-a-half years but continues to hold out hope of a potential return to the ring dependent on how his neck is recovering after scheduled scans in 3-6 months. Speaking to SportsTalkPhilly, he discussed what's next for him:
Whether he has seen any improvement in his neck injury
“I don’t really know because I have no real pain issues. My day-to-day life is very normal. I have no day-to-day issues, no issues with headaches or pain, functioning issues, any of those things. I did go down to a beautiful place called RejuvStem in Cancun, and got some stem cells, so we’ll see. That was about three months ago, so we’ll see how that looks and if there’s any progress there. More than anything, I’m really grateful just to be living a happy, healthy life. No issues at all with my neck right now.”

On upcoming scans that will determine how his neck is healing
“Yeah. More than anything, I’m just taking every day as it comes. I know that sounds like a cliche. But I get scans again in another three-to-six months, and if they look great and the doctors say it’s healthy for me to go back, then that’s something where we’ll sit down and talk about it. But I try not to spend too much time worrying about things I can’t control. It’s nice to know that if I get the opportunity to get back in the ring, and I can do it healthily, then let’s do that. Let’s attack it fully. But if not, I know exactly what I want to do, and I’m excited about that path, too.”

On potentially retiring and what the future holds
"That’s been really the beautiful thing with this neck injury. So many doors have opened to me. The Countdown shows, I’ve had a blast doing those. There have been some other broadcasting opportunities within WWE, stuff I can’t talk about yet that will be out in a few months that I’m excited about. There’s a myriad of things open to me, and so many things I’m excited about. That’s really the lovely thing, that while I’m not in the ring right now, I have so many things I’m excited about and projects I’m working on. Every day, I wake up with that excitement and that passion."
