It was previously reported that Blair Davenport (Bea Priestley) made her NXT UK in-ring debut on last week’s episode when she faced Laura Di Matteo in Singles action and came out of the match with a huge win. Speaking with TalkSPORT, Blair Davenport discussed it being the right time and opportunity to be in NXT UK and being in NXT UK is everything she wanted to do.
Blair Davenport said:
“It was the right opportunity and the right timing for me. There were so many other things that I wanted to do first and I didn’t want to be in the position where I would make such a big jump in my career and wish I could’ve done things before coming here. I wanted to do everything that I wanted to do, then come to this part in my life. During the pandemic, there was a small window.”
Davenport then talked about leaving AEW due to her visa expiring and there being no hope for her visa to be renewed, so there was a window for her to work for other promotions in the mean time and to get a bit of rest at home, but ultimately she wanted to go to NXT UK because she loves it so much.
Blair Davenport said:
“This is when we got in touch with WWE and we were chatting. I almost wanted a bit of time at home as well to have a bit of a rest, but I love NXT UK so much and it’s definitely where I want to be right now.”
Davenport then talked about transitioning into her new in-ring name and how it is also a new way to a clean slate as well as to reinvent yourself.
Blair Davenport said:
“It’s a new way to recreate yourself and feel refreshed. It’s not a clean slate because I don’t want to forget everything I’ve done, but this is the next level now.”
