As previously reported, Vince McMahon, at the age of 77, announced his retirement from the WWE and it was then revealed that Triple H has been named WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Head of Creative. Since then, Triple H has made several changes to WWE's creative such as the returns of Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Bayley, IYO SKY and Dakota Kai to the storylines and more changes are set to be made soon.
MJF has been silent since his promo on an episode of AEW Dynamite several months back, where he would lash out his grievances on TV and even tell AEW CEO Tony Khan to fire him. MJF's contract status with All Elite Wrestling has been in question since.
Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently took to his “Hall of Fame podcast,” where he spoke about how AEW's Tony Khan said he was worried now more than ever about talents jumping ship back to the WWE from AEW, but athletes right now are definitely in the best place they have ever been financially due to a promotion like All Elite wrestling being around and someone like Tony Khan spending a big amount of money on acquiring these talents. Booker also spoke about the status of MJF's AEW contract as well as how he feels MJF will go straight to the top in the WWE.
Booker T said:
“I was reading Tony Khan’s comments that he’s worried now more than ever about wrestlers jumping ship back to WWE [from AEW].” “I think guys right now [financially speaking] are definitely in the best place they’ve ever been, especially with a company like AEW around, and someone like Tony Khan spending a whole lot of money. Talent is definitely going to be in demand right now because the war is really on now. All it takes is one little crack, and everything can just fall apart.”
“I’m wondering the status of MJF’s contract in AEW right now.” “What is going on with MJF? We know he supposedly had two years left on his contract. I know some people have questioned whether he will do well in WWE, but I feel MJF is a guy who would get the rocket put on him in WWE and go straight to the top. I’m serious.”
Booker also spoke about how Triple H being in charge of WWE's creative and Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan being named as the WWE's co-CEO's has definitely changed the mindset of everyone and the game of pro wrestling.
Booker T said:
“It definitely changes the whole name of the game.”
