Bret Hart's Agreement With WWE is Reportedly Only a Merchandising Deal

-- It was recently reported (via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter) that WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart had "quietly" signed a new agreement with WWE that would have precluded him from appearing for AEW in any capacity and those in AEW were moving forward under that same assumption. In the latest Observer Newsletter, Hart's situation with WWE was further clarified as the former wrestler has gone on record to state that his deal with WWE is only a merchandising agreement and nothing more than that. It's unclear though whether he is free to work with AEW or any other wrestling promotion as he made no comment on that topic.

-- As of last week, AEW officials had no contacted Hart about appearing at either the Double or Nothing PPV event or the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, where Owen's widow Dr. Martha Hart, will be in attendance.
