Britt Baker Suspended By AEW After Backstage Confrontation With MJF and Alicia Atout

-- It looks like the "Brawl In" season is in full swing in AEW as another backstage incident has led to a reported suspension and fine for one of the promotion's top stars.

-- Dave Meltzer reported in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Britt Baker was suspended and fined for a backstage incident she had with MJF that also involved Alicia Atout. He reported that on the 250th episode of Dynamite on July 17th, Baker allegedly said something about MJF that Atout - his girlfriend - overheard. She then told MJF, who confronted Baker about it. Meltzer reported that Baker was suspended for either "one or two weeks" and was also fined by the AEW disciplinary committee.

-- Fightfulselect.com confirmed the incident and the punishment and added more details to the report. According to the outlet, Baker "exercised frustration" about MJF within the women's locker room and Atout was there and heard what was said and so the words made it back to MJF. The report adds that there were separate confrontations between Atout and Baker as well as MJF and Baker but primarily it is a "he said-she said" situation but it is believed that Baker also had issues with Atout for telling MJF about what was said in the locker room and according to one person that Baker cussed out Atout. At some point, the argument between MJF and Baker resulted in MJF punching a wall before his hour long match against Will Ospreay. Ospreay was also said to have talked to Baker to try and calm the situation down.

-- It isn't exactly known what triggered the confrontation but fightful reports that MJF and Baker, once close friends, had some sort of falling out last year. As for this latest situation, AEW HR was immediately involved and an investigation was launched, wrestlers were interviewed and Baker was ultimately suspended and fined.
Baker is still scheduled to wrestle at AEW All In, which would imply that her suspension is either over or will be ending soon. She was not at Dynamite this past week and the promotion has tried to keep the incident under wraps before it eventually leaked.
