It looks like Chris Jericho is going to run with this whole "sports entertainer" label.
"Le Champion" used the term on a few occasions during the build-up to his upcoming showdown against Eddie Kingston at AEW Revolution 2022 this coming Sunday night.
During their face-to-face promo segment on AEW Dynamite, "The Mad King" proudly pointed out how he is not a sports entertainer, which led to "The Demo King" firing back about how he is one -- but a good one.
Now, the Inner Circle leader is filing to trademark the new nickname / label.
United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) records show that the AEW star has filed to trademark the "Sports Entertainer" term on February 28, 2022.
As noted, Jericho also recently filed to trademark "The Influencer" name for general and pro wrestling use, the same filing that he used for the aforementioned "Sports Entertainer" moniker.
The following use descriptions were included with the USPTO filing made by Chris Jericho for "Sports Entertainer" on 2/28:
“Hats; Shirts; Bandanas; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts”
“Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler, musician, or podcaster; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler, musician, or podcaster; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler, musician, or podcaster; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestler, musician, or podcaster in the field of professional wrestling, music, or podcasting for entertainment purposes."
