CM Punk brings the best out of people.
In the ring.
On the microphone.
Everywhere.
During an interview with Ross Tucker of Draft Kings this week, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion spoke about bringing the best out of Roman Reigns during their face-to-face promo segment this past Monday night on WWE Raw, his role in WWE these days and the difference between himself and "The OTC."
Featured below are some of the highlights from the interview where he touches on these topics with his thoughts. Also embedded below is a complete video archive of the discussion.
On the difference between himself and Roman Reigns: "Roman likes to do cinema, I like to do pro wrestling. I like to get dirty, I like bloody and gnarly fights. I like punching people in the face."
On his role being someone who thrives in chaos and challenges expectations, both in the ring and on the microphone: "I’m the guy that sticks the toothpaste back in the tube. Where everybody thinks they know what’s going on behind the scenes, I’m the guy that blurs the line."
On getting the best out of other wrestlers on the microphone, such as Reigns: "When I’m across from a guy like Roman Reigns, I’d like to think I bring the best out of him. When I’m in the ring either people, they know they’ve got to step up. When I have a microphone in my hand, they know they’ve got to come correct and match that energy."
CM Punk will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in one of the main events at WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 18 and April 19, 2026.
