Cody Rhodes took to social media to respond to a fan who noted that he will be boycotting the AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 pay-per-view on Sunday.
In his response, "The American Nightmare" wrote about reports that came out regarding his AEW release being rebuffed.
Additionally, he noted that he is actually very proud of all that he accomplished while in AEW, but that it just felt like it was time to return to WWE and "go for the big one."
"Full stop: the money and creative story that misguided brudda put out there has already been rebuffed by all parties," he wrote. "I’m proud of my peers/kids there and my accomplishments as competitor/EVP."
Rhodes concluded, "It was just personal and it was just time to go for the big one."
