Damian Priest recently opened up about the intensity and emotion behind his WrestleMania 41 showdown with Drew McIntyre.
The two clashed in a brutal Sin City Street Fight on the second night of the event, delivering a chaotic battle that saw Priest crash through multiple tables. The match also marked a significant milestone for Priest, as it was his first full singles match on the grand WrestleMania stage.
In a post-event interview with Denise Salcedo, the former World Heavyweight Champion shared how much the moment meant to him and reflected on the fiery buildup to the match.
"The match, I thought we delivered. I thought for a WrestleMania match with the time we were given, we did our thing. Look, our rivalry, I don't care what anybody says, it has reason, it has story, and it was heated, and we had our beef. We went at it. We went hard, too. Which is what I was expecting. I know he was expecting it, too. I think we we had a performance worthy of a WrestleMania match, and that was that being my first full singles match. I'm proud as hell."
McIntyre winning most likely put an end to the two men's almost year-long feud. Now that Manai 41 is in the books, both will be looking toward the future.
