Details on WWE's COVID-19 Testing, Some Wrestlers Express Concern & Frustration

-- WWE canceled yesterday's Raw and Smackdown tapings and instead tested all talent and staff at the Performance Center after a developmental wrestler tested positive for COVID-19 last week, the first time they officially did this for any of their events. Previous to that, the company simply did temperature checks and had to fill out a questionnaire but yesterday, everyone underwent nose swabs.

-- Multiple sources report that things were extremely busy with the testing that took several hours to complete. PWInsider.com noted that the gathering was described as "disorganized at the onset" but seemingly improved as the day went on as some people indicated that they had no problems with their testing. The report notes that almost everyone has been concerned that they could potentially have been exposed to COVID-19, not only their own health but those of their family members and the prospects of "bringing something home" that they could expose their families to. One person stated that this is the exact reason why Roman Reigns has chosen to stay away from the company during the pandemic. The one exception was a wrestler who strangely thought that the entire situation was overblown and that the pandemic itself was a "big work."

-- Finally, the fact that WWE brought in "family and friends" to the taping on Monday was also of great concern to many wrestlers since the company wouldn't really be able to trace where those individuals had been to over the previous few days (unlike WWE staff) and if these "family and friends" return for subsequent tapings, where they were between events. Compounding the frustration was that some claimed that WWE did not inform them before the taping that outside guests would be in the building and there were even some who indicated that they only found when they went to the ring and saw the faces at ringside.

-- WWE is set to resume their taping schedule today in what will no doubt be another extremely busy day since NXT will have to be fit in.
