Dijak recently appeared as a guest on the WWE Die Woche program for an in-depth interview covering all things pro wrestling.
During the discussion, the WWE NXT Superstar spoke about how his current character is one that he is the most comfortable with out of any he has portrayed since arriving on the scene in WWE.
"It’s definitely the most comfortable for me," Dijak said. "I always try my best, especially in wrestling, to continuously reinvent and innovate and stuff like that. Because the turnaround time in wrestling is so fast. Once people get used to something and get comfortable with it, that’s when it can go a number of different directions. I’ve never felt comfortable enough in a state of where I was in terms of my career to say, oh, I can just kind of sit back and coast and let the character just kind of be itself. Even in this current incarnation, we started leaning more heavily into my criminal justice background, which is great. I wanted that. I wanted to add another layer of depth to who I am and why people would tune in and watch me and what kind of storylines I can be integrated to."
He would go on to give credit to WWE Hall of Fame legend and WWE NXT executive Shawn Michaels for playing a big role in his rise to the top in WWE NXT.
"To Shawn Michaels’s credit, he was very receptive that, and it’s worked out beautifully," he said. "But again, we only started that a year and a half ago, and after maybe a year, I’ve already taken that and said, okay, I’m going to add more and more layers of who I am and peel back a little bit of that character. So I’m always trying to evolve and add more depth and add more layers because that’s kind of definitive to who everyone is as a human being."
