Dominik Mysterio On Original NXT No Mercy Match Being Nixed Due To Mustafa Ali's WWE Release

Dominik Mysterio was going to be sharing the ring with Mustafa Ali at the next WWE NXT premium live event.

But then the massive WWE and NXT Superstar releases happened, and Ali was among the 25 names let go from the company following the WWE and UFC merger under the new TKO banner.

During a recent appearance on the "In The Kliq" podcast, NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day group spoke about his originally scheduled match against Ali being scrapped from NXT No Mercy 2023 special event on September 30 in Bakersfield, CA.

"Yeah, you know, it’s a very unfortunate situation that very talented people have to go through situations like this," Dominik said of Mustafa's release from WWE. "At the end of the day, it’s out of our control."

'Dirty' Dom continued, "We just do whatever we can to put our best foot forward. But as far as No Mercy goes, I’m just gonna have to wait and see who my opponent will be."

For now, Dominik Mysterio will focus his attention on his next scheduled defense of the NXT North American Championship, as he puts the title on-the-line against Dragon Lee on next week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
