Ethan Page Reflects On His Decision To Leave AEW; Calls His NXT Run "Validating"

-- Ahead of his NXT championship title defense one week from today when the brand debuts on the CW Network, Ethan Page sat down with Chris Van Vliet to discuss his jump to WWE from AEW and enjoying immediate success and an ongoing three-month title reign. When asked about that reign, Page commented:

"Validating? I think that’s the perfect word: validating. It’s like, imagine your whole life you have this vision of what your potential could be, and no one around you sees the same vision as you. And then, magically, the greatest wrestler of all time just has the same vision as you and is like, ‘I’ll let you do that.’ And here I am doing it. Yeah, the boyhood dream, dude."

-- Page noted that when he decided to leave AEW, his plans were to work the indie scene and he ended up committing to multiple dates through the rest of 2024 before receiving a call from WWE. On his decision to leave AEW, Page simply stated that "it was time" as he wasn't getting the opportunity to show what he could bring to the table, something his WWE experience thus far has given him.
