An announcement was recently made by the F1RST Wrestling promotion, which is a promotion based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, that the company will hold an event called “Saturday Night Nitro” from inside the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota on Saturday, September 10th.
This is the first time in 27 years that a pro wrestling event will be held inside The Mall Of America and this comes after WCW first launched “WCW Monday Nitro” on Monday nights on TNT, which soon kicked off the Monday Night Wars between WCW and WWE and since then, there hasn't been a pro wrestling event inside the Mall of America, but that is all about to change this September.
The Mall Of America is best known to pro wrestling fans for being the venue that hosted the inaugural episode of WCW Monday Nitro on September 4th, 1995. The F1RST Wrestling promotion is best known for a yearly event called “Wrestlepalooza,” which showcases talents such as Ariya Daivari and AEW Stars Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin) earlier in their careers. The company's most recent event was the Wrestlepalooza XIX Event in March, which saw Dante Martin beat Aramis and Arez in the show's main event.
