WWE Monday Night RAW Superstar Finn Balor made his return to WWE NXT in late 2019 and he would become the WWE NXT Champion for a second time. Finn then wanted to go to WWE NXT UK, but that plan was nixed by the company due to certain factors and he just ended up going to WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Balor spoke with Ryan Satin on his "Out of Character" podcast on why he was not able to go to WWE NXT UK in 2021.
Finn Balor said:
"I wasn't super excited about the idea of returning to the main roster. I felt there was potential for me to perform in NXT UK and work with those guys and that was something I was super interested in. I pitched the idea to Hunter [Triple H] at the time. They were interested in it, but they were going to have to renegotiate my contract all because of budget restrictions. It was going to prove too difficult and maybe wasn't a smart move career-wise at this age. I've become very aware of that and there might be a clock starting to tick right now.”
