The opening segment of last night's episode of NXT saw Kyle O’Reilly make an appearance, which is his first since beating Adam Cole in an Unsanctioned Match at the TakeOver: Stand And Deliver Event. Kyle O’Reilly ended up getting involved in a heated argument with Cameron Grimes, which set up the night's main event, but his promo included taking a shot at NXT Champion Karrion Kross.
Kyle O’Reilly talked about finding his killer instinct, which he says is needed in order to be at the top of NXT and how he might take that killer instinct into battle against the most dominant force NXT has seen, which is NXT Champion Karrion Kross. Kyle O'Reilly then said he’s “got time” in a reference to the NXT Champion. Before he could continue with his promo, Cameron Grimes interrupted the segment.
Prior to the main event, O’Reilly was shown making his way to the ring when he stopped at Karrion and Scarlett, who were leaning against a wall in the back. Karrion and O’Reilly had a brief stare-down as Kross smirked, and O’Reilly kept walking to the ring.
The official Twitter account of NXT noted that we need to see the Kross vs. O'Reilly NXT Championship Match, which the NXT Champion re-tweeted. Kross also referenced O’Reilly’s promo in a second tweet by saying “Killer… Instinct. #WWENXT”
There is no word yet on when the Kross vs. O'Reilly NXT Championship Match might take place, but both Superstars are reportedly currently without a feud following their big wins at TakeOver. O’Reilly won an Unsanctioned Match against Cole, while Kross beat Finn Balor for the NXT Title.
