As previously reported, Powerhouse Hobbs’ AEW contract expired last week and was not renewed, leading to speculation about his move to WWE.
According to Fightful.com, Hobbs has officially signed a contract with WWE. However, there is currently no information on when he will make his debut on WWE television. Updates will be provided as they become available. WWE Smackdown is scheduled for tonight, and Saturday Night’s Main Event is happening this weekend, so he could appear at either event. There is also the possibility of him showing up at the 2026 Royal Rumble PLE next weekend.
It remains unclear what name Hobbs will use in WWE. It's likely that his name will be altered from his AEW name, although “Hobbs” might still be an option.
This development comes after AEW made efforts to retain Hobbs, reportedly offering him a substantial deal right up until his contract expired. Despite the generous offer, Hobbs had made his decision to leave. He reportedly tried to exit without burning bridges, fulfilling all his commitments, including competing in last week’s AEW Collision, where he and The Opps lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Hangman Page and JetSpeed.
