Jarrett Payton, son of legendary Chicago Bears running-back Walter Payton, took to X on Wednesday to share some unfortunate news.
The son of the NFL legend shared a statement given to him by the family of Steve "Mongo" McMichael, a fellow former Chicago Bears legend and former wrestler and commentator for WCW.
According to the statement, Mongo McMichael, a former member of The Four Horsemen at one point in his WCW career, was hospitalized recently and is undergoing tests.
"Update on Steve McMichael," Payton wrote as the caption to the post on X containing the family-released statement. "Please send those prayers up for Mongo."
The statement reads as follows:
Steve McMichael Hospitalized
The McMichael family is asking for prayers, as Steve was hospitalized today. He is currently undergoing tests. We will update his fans and the media as more information becomes available.

McMichael was previously hospitalized with suspected pneumonia back on February 15, 2024. He then got a blood transfusion and battled MRSA, in addition to battling against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
