This past November 18th, WWE released a total of 8 talents, including Tegan Nox (Nixon Newell). Tegan signed with WWE back in 2017 and spent most of her career in NXT prior to being called up to the main roster this past July, when she was put in a tag team with Shotzi Blackheart. Tegan Nox recently made an appearance on the "Into The Danger Zone w/ Chris Denker" podcast and revealed that she always felt like she was in danger of being released even though she could wrestle as the product is different to what it used to be.
Tegan Nox said:
“As we can see watching the product now, it’s very much [the] Diva era coming back. I just always felt like I was always on the chopping block even if I could wrestle. I was not as much of a personality or character for them.”
Tegan Nox also spoke about how she felt like she could be fired at any given time with just one wrong move, but she also felt like she didn’t really do anything wrong.
Tegan Nox said:
“I’m in more of a firing lineup here. Like I could do one thing wrong, and I could be gone the next week.” “Everyone’s walking on eggshells. You don’t want to step out of line just in case something could go wrong which luckily I guess I didn’t really do anything wrong.”
Tegan Nox then spoke about why she thinks she was released from the company.
Tegan Nox said:
“I just didn’t fit in the demographic is my true belief. Nothing to do with budget cuts. I just didn’t fit the look or the idea of what they wanted for their female wrestlers.”
