Former WWE-Superstar's Possible Rancid-Inspired New Ring Name

"... in the distance as she wipes a tear from her eye, Ruby's fading out, she disappears, it's time, time to say goodbye."

Goodbye to "Ruby Riott", sure, but the former WWE-Superstar doesn't seem quite as willing to say goodbye to the name "Ruby" (if she can help it that is). During a recent podcast that Prange was a guest on, she explained how she got the name "Ruby Riott" when she started in the WWE back in 2010.

Professional wrestler Dori Prange, formerly known as "Ruby Riott" in the WWE brand, as well as "Heidi Lovelace", is on the hunt for a new ring name to continue her wrestling career under. After being released from the WWE earlier this month, Prange's Instagram name has now been changed to "Ruby Soho" (which was inspired by the 1995 punk rock song of the same name by the band Rancid, "Ruby Soho" from their album "...And Out Come The Wolves").

During a recent edition of the Wrestling Perspective Podcast which Prange was a guest on, Rancid guitarist and co-host of the WP Podcast, Lars Frederiksen asked if she’d be keeping ‘Ruby’ as a first name. Prange responded that her WWE-ring name (Ruby Riott) was inspired by Rancid's '95 song "Ruby Soho", then she confirmed that she would like to keep the first name. and she confirmed she would, noting that the choice (as Ruby Riott) was inspired by Rancid’s "Ruby Soho" song from their 1995 album.

“I would like to [keep it] if it’s possible. I feel like it fits me,”

Prange explained.

“Ruby came from ‘Ruby Soho,’ and so I hold that very dear to my heart.”

Frederiksen not only offered the name suggestion during the show, stating that Prange should use the ring name "Ruby Soho", but he then added that he could get the band to clear it rather easily. Lars then added, "I got a couple guys I know who can clear the music for you. You should [use it].”

After Ruby shared her utter excitement at the mere thought of Frederiksen's statement that he could get it cleared if she was into it.

“I swear to God, I can have that cleared,” Frederiksen noted.

The icing on the cake that is "Ruby Soho" came as the follow-up statement from Rancid guitarist Lars Frederiksen who even offered to get Prange the rights to use "Ruby Soho" as her entrance theme, should she choose to use the name. In response to the offer, Prange replied, "Stop! You can't say that to me and have me not lose my mind right now!" Frederiksen then responded, “I can get on a group text right now and get you cleared in about ten minutes.” to which Prange exclaimed, "Oh my god, YES!"

With Prange's Instagram handle now changed to @RealRubySoho, we can only guess that Prange has made a decision in regards to her future wrestling in-ring moniker.
