Professional wrestling veteran Samu Anoa’i wrestled for the WWE from 1983 to 1984 and then again from 1992 to 1996, which is when he became a one-time WWE Tag Team Champion with his cousin Fatu (Rikishi) in The Headshrinkers. Samu Anoa’i is part of the famous Anoa’i family and the son of Afa, one-half of the legendary Wild Samoans tag team. Samu is also cousin of WWE legend Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, the late great Yokozuna, Rosey and the late great Umaga.
According to The Daily Item, Samu Anoa’i has signed a legends type of contract with the WWE, which is being described as a “Nostalgia Contract,” a contract that allows WWE CEO Vince McMahon to use Samu's likeness and can have him make an appearance for special events if the needed arises. Samu would even post a photo of himself on Facebook this past February 8 with a WWE logo and the caption, “Thank you, Vince McMahon and WWE.”
