The Rock isn't the only one critical of Cody Rhodes crying in his recent WWE television promo.
As noted, in a social media promo and during his "Rock Concert" SmackDown appearance last Friday, "The Final Boss" brought up the leader of the "Cody Crybabies" shedding some tears on WWE Monday Night Raw while talking about being unable to present the title to his father if he wins it, but still has the ability to do so with his mother.
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo has also been critical of Cody crying in promos.
Russo spoke about the topic during an appearance on Busted Open Radio.
"Cody, get therapy, man," he said. "Every freaking week, this guy is going out, cutting promos, he can’t get through a promo without crying. Casual wrestling fans, we don’t want to see wrestlers cry, bro. We want to see men’s men, we want to see wrestlers, we want to see testosterone, bro. We don’t want to see namby-pamby crybabies."
He continued, "How anybody can be a fan of this guy as a babyface, bro, crying over a prop … Bro, he’s got himself convinced that he’s going to really win a match and have a real title and, ‘I’m gonna give this title to my mom and my dad, even though he’s not here, he is gonna be proud.’"
