A fourth participant has been announced for the first-ever five-man NXT Gauntlet Eliminator match designed to determine the next title challenger to reigning NXT World Champion Finn Balor at next month's NXT TakeOver live special on the WWE Network.
On Sunday, WWE announced via social media that Timothy Thatcher will be joining previously announced competitors Kushida, Cameron Grimes and Kyle O'Reilly in the match scheduled for this week's edition of WWE NXT on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
"Get ready for some Thatch-as-Thatch-can on WWE NXT," read the announcement regarding the addition of Thatcher to the NXT Gauntlet Eliminator match. "Timothy Thatcher is the fourth entrant in the first-ever NXT Gauntlet Eliminator."
In addition to the NXT Gauntlet Eliminator Match, as well as Tommaso Ciampa vs. Jake Atlas in one-on-one action, this Wednesday's WWE NXT show will also feature a Number One Contender Battle Royal to decide NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai's challenger for NXT TakeOver.
Announced participants for the NXT Women's Championship No. 1 Contender Battle Royal for the 9/23 episode of WWE NXT include Rhea Ripley, Candice LeRae, Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez, Shotzi Blackheart, Aliyah, Kayden Carter, Indi Hartwell, Xia Li and Kacy Catanzaro.
