Francine Reveals What Role WWE Had Originally Planned For Her At NXT Show

-- ECW legend Francine appeared at last week's episode of NXT that emanated from the famous 2300 ECW Arena in Philadelphia. Speaking on her podcast "Eyes Up Here", Francine revealed that WWE had a bigger role planned for her but due to health circumstances, she was unable to fulfil the original ideas.

-- According to her, WWE first offered her the special guest referee in the Lola Vice vs. Jaida Parker match but she had to turn it down because she didn't feel she was quick enough to keep up with the action after having undergone multiple abdominal surgeries leaving her core weak. That role ultimately then went to Dawn Marie. WWE then offered her a role as a backstage interviewer but she had to turn that down as well due to having lost her voice while attending a ComicCon event. At that point, she offered to pull herself completely from the show, but WWE came up with the idea of the cameo before the 10-woman tag team match.

“Because my core is so weak, just lifting myself up getting into the ring is slow. So, I was just like, well, I guess I’m not going to be able to do it. I went to Rhode Island ComicCon for four days, and I talked, and I talked, and I talked, and I lost my voice. So on Tuesday, they sent me a script to be a backstage interviewer, and I go, ‘Ugh, I can’t do this either; My voice is shot.'”

"Would I have liked to have done more? Of course. I would have loved to have had an entrance and walked to the ring and did something. It just wasn’t in the cards for me, but just being included was enough. Like, I didn’t need any more than that. It was fun. I got to meet so many great people. The girls were so nice; some of them had on ECW attire, which I thought was adorable."
