Friday Night SmackDown Quick Recap for Sept. 9, 2022

Matches Tonight: Five (approx. 50 minutes)
  • Six-Man Tag Team Match: the Brawling Brutes vs Imperium. Yes, all three members are there--NXT"s Giovanni Vinci has been called up. They used the opening notes of their old theme, and a similar entrance. All hail IMPERIUM! Anywho, absolutely fantastic, physical match and a hot crowd that could appreciate. Worth watching! 8:06-8:26pm EST.
  • Tag Tag Team Match: WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Aliyah & Raquel Rodriguez vs Toxic Attraction. Decent match that saw the champs go over Toxic Attraction. 8:45-8:52pm EST.
  • Fatal 5-Way Elimination Contender's Match: Xia Li, Sonya Deville, Ronda Rousey, Natalya, and Lacey Evans. Natalya was eliminated first at 9:02 by Rousey. Deville & Rousey simultaneously used submission holds to eliminate Lacey Evans & Xia Li at 9:03pm, and Rousey picked up the win at 9:06pm. She'll challenge Liv Morgan at a future date. 9:00-9:06pm EST.
  • Eight-Man Tag Team Match: Hit Row & the Street Profits vs Maximum Male Models & Los Lotharios. Decent match that saw Hit Row & the Street Profits pick up the win. 9:16-9:25pm EST.
  • Singles Main Event Match: Drew McIntyre vs Solo Sikoa w/ the Bloodline. Drew McIntyre won via DQ when Karrion Kross attacked. Kross would go on to end our program by putting Drew to sleep. 9:48-9:56pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • Men Amongst a Monster: Strowman showed up to wreck the Alpha Academy but said nothing. Meh, you didn't miss anything, really.
  • Solo Sikoa Joins the Bloodline: After assisting Roman Reigns at Clash in the Castle six days ago, Solo Sikoa has officially joined both the main roster and the Bloodline
  • The Seattle Crowd: Very active, one of the best we've had this year outside NXT fandom (I'm going to start noting if the crowd sucks or not as they're a palpable factor in match enjoyment for many of our viewers).
