With the month of March being Women's History Month it seems only appropriate that the bombshell announcement by NXT General Manager William Regal regarding the WWE NXT Women's Division would be dropped during this month.
During this week's edition of the Wednesday, March 10, 2021 episode of WWE NXT On USA Network, the show opened with NXT General Manager William Regal inside the ring with the entire WWE NXT Women's Division roster standing on both sides of the ramp that leads from the stage to the ring, waiting patiently to hear the announcement.
This week's episode of NXT opened with two massive announcements from William Regal. The first bombshell to be dropped was that WWE's black and gold brand was introducing a brand new title, the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships. Regal then proceeded to crown the 2021 Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic tournament's winners, Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez as the INAUGURALNXT Women's Tag Team Champions.

The NXT Women's Division Tag-Team Titles
The Inaugural NXT Women’s Tag-Team Championship titles for the WWE's black and yellow brand were presented to the first ever winners of the first-year of the Women's Dusty Cup titles for the black & yellow brand come one week after WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler retained their tag-team titles over Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez in what many would agree was a controversial fashion.
Originally Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez had earned their title shot against Baszler and Jax by winning the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Last week’s NXT show saw Regal arguing with main roster official Adam Pearce over the controversial finish, and Regal then declared that he would have a major announcement to make this week.
After William Regal praised the division, he asked the winners of the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Classic Tournament, Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez, to step in the ring before making the announcement. Kai and Gonzalez stepped out of the line-up by the ramp and joined Mr. Regal inside the ring.
William Regal then revealed the new NXT Women Tag Team Titles and he presented them to Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.
The glue hadn't even dried on the new NXT Women's Tag-Team Titles, when a sound was heard the back of the group for Women's Division of NXT. It was none-other-than Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon "congratulating" Kai and Gonzalez as they made their way to the ring. They then got down to business and demanded a title match for the two titles that Kai and Gonzalez had one question to ask of the new champs, "Are you ready to defend your championship?"
Regal's second bombshell announcement on Wednesday's NXT was revealed to be that the upcoming NXT Takeover special titled NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver 2021 will be a two-day event, much like WresleMania was aired last year, and is set again for a two day event this year.
