WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg recently made an appearance on the "Talk Is Jericho" podcast to talk about a number of topics such as why a match with WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin never happened. According to Goldberg, it was due to Stone Cold's neck issues as well as his finishing moves, whether it may be the spear or the jackhammer.
Goldberg said:
"There's no question that I wish it would've happened." "That was the match to have. Why it never happened, I think 90% of the reasoning behind that was [Austin's] neck issues and my finishing moves, right? Whether it be the spear, whether it be the Jackhammer, I don't think that those are moves that he would've wanted to, wanted to do, nor would his boss would've wanted him to do. I think it was a safety issue more so than anything."
WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin last competed for WWE at last April's WWE WrestleMania 38 Premium Live Event, when he beat Kevin Owens in Singles action. Prior to his match at last April's WrestleMania 38 Premium Live Event, The Texas Rattlesnake last competed for WWE at their WrestleMania 19 Event, which is just a few weeks before Goldberg's WWE in-ring debut at their 2003 Backlash Event.
