IMPACT ON AXS TV RESULTS (2/17/2022)
This week's show kicks off with the "We Own The Night" normal cold open video package and then we shoot inside the IMPACT Zone as this week's program gets underway.
We hear the commentary duo welcome us to the show before heading down to the ring for our first segment of the evening.
Moose vs. W. Morrissey No Surrender Contract Signing
After a lengthy video package highlighting last week's show, we hear the familiar sounds of Moose's theme song.
On that note the IMPACT World Champion makes his way to the ring for the official contract signing for his title defense against W. Morrissey at the upcoming No Surrender 2022 special event.
Moose enters the ring and takes a seat while Scott D'Amore stands in the squared circle as well. Moose says W. Morrissey won't be signing after last week. D'Amore says Morrissey isn't here but he's going to give him until Saturday to sign it as well.
D'Amore ends up convincing the "Wrestling God" to put his John Hancock on the papers and then the champ begins heading to the back.
As he does, he gets attacked by Morrissey, who is, in fact, in the house. Morrissey beats him down and throws him off the entrance stage. He leaves him laying and then signs the contract to make the match for this weekend official.
Gia Miller Talks With The Bullet Club
We shoot backstage after the commentators recap the opening segment and run down the card for No Surrender.
Gia Miller is standing by with The Bullet Club. They talk about their matches at No Surrender and then mention their six man tag team main event match tonight against Violent By Design.
Kia Dream vs. Masha Slamovich
We head back inside the IMPACT Zone where Masha Slamovich's theme hits and out she comes for the first match of the evening.
Already in the ring is her opponent, Kia Dream. The bell sounds and we see Slamovich give Dream a free shot as she puts her hands behind her back.
Slamovich ends up blasting Dream with a headbutt and then hits her finisher for yet another super quick squash match victory.
Winner: Masha Slamovich
Ace Austin vs. Blake Christian vs. Laredo Kid
After the opener we head to a commercial. When we return, we see Ace Austin and Madman Fulton make their way to the ring.
Out next is Blake Christian. He settles into the ring as well and then Laredo Kid is introduced. The three men are in the ring for this triple-threat match, while Fulton takes his place at ringside.
The bell sounds and we're off and running with this X-Division triple threat showdown. Straight out of the gate we get some high risk, fast paced spots.
Fulton immediately makes his presence felt, providing a save for Austin by catching him as he was launched out to the floor. Soon after, we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues in this one.
As we return from the break we see the action still in progress, with Fulton once again playing a factor in helping shift the momentum in the bout.
We see a bunch of high spot attempts and then after some near falls from Kid and Christian, we see Austin hit a cutter off the ropes for the pin to secure his spot in the X-Division title match at No Surrender.
Winner: Ace Austin
Backstage Segments: The IInspiration, JONAH vs. Black Taurus Hype
We shoot to a vignette after the match hyping up the showdown between monsters at No Surrender between JONAH and Black Taurus.
We then head to a commercial break and when we return, we see Kaleb With A K seated backstage when The IInspiration approaches him. They bring up the photos they gave him and talk about The influence not giving him enough respect. They claim they would.
Lady Frost vs. Gisele Shaw
Now we head back inside the IMPACT Zone where we get ready for our next match of the evening.
Lady Frost makes her way to the ring where she awaits the entrance of her opponent.
With that said we are treated to the debut ring entrance of "The Quentisential Diva" Gisele Shaw.
The bell sounds and we're off and running with this one on one contest in the IMPACT Knockouts division.
These two tear the house down, with Frost nearly pulling off the upset with her top rope Temperature Drop finisher.
Instead, Shaw kicks out and hits a crazy Spanish fly for a close near fall of her own before ultimately finishing this one off for the pinfall victory.
Winner: Gisele Shaw
Gia Miller Interviews Honor No More
We shoot backstage where Gia Miller conducts a brief interview with the Honor No More faction.
The group takes turns hyping their big match against Team IMPACT at this weekend's No Surrender show and then we head to another commercial.
Deonna Purrazzo To Defend Title At No Surrender
When we return from the break we see Gia Miller standing by with double champion Deonna Purrazzo.
Purrazzo mentions recent comments from Mickie James about the responsibilities of a champ and mentions she is a champ-champ, which gives her twice as many.
She finally goes on to reveal that whoever wants a shot at one of her titles, she will defend one of them in an open challenge at No Surrender.
Kenny King vs. Chris Sabin
We head back to the ring for our next match of the evening. Out comes Kenny King accompanied by the rest of Honor No More.
King settles in the ring as other members of the group go over and harass the commentators.
Out comes Chris Sabin, who is accompanied by members of Team IMPACT for this bout. The bell sounds and we're off and running with this one.
After an excellent back and forth match that had lots of shifts of momentum, Sabin pulls off the pinfall victory.
Once the match wraps up, Maria Kanellis of Honor No More gets on the mic and cuts a promo hyping the team match at the No Surrender show this weekend and then we head to another commercial break.
Winner: Chris Sabin
Team IMPACT On If Steve Maclin Is Trustworthy
When we return from the commercials we see Team IMPACT talking among themselves about Maria's comments about whether or not Steve Maclin will be trustworthy at No Surrender. They ultimately decide that they're all in.
Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans vs. Chelsea Green & Mickie James
Now we head back inside the IMPACT Zone where we prepare for our next match, which will be a Knockouts tag-team contest.
Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans make their way out and settle in the ring. Out next in separate ring entrances are Chelsea Green and IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James.
The bell sounds and it will be Steelz and Green kicking things off for their respective teams. Soon thereafter we see Evans tag in for her team, but Green and James join forces to take her down.
From there, Evans and Steelz use some heel tactics to shift the offensive momentum in their favor as we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.
When we return from the break and after some back and forth action we get to the finish which sees Steelz score the pin on James.
Winner: Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans
Brian Myers Scolds The Learning Tree
We shoot backstage where we catch Brian Myers in the middle of scolding The Learning Tree duo.
He complains about pulling thumbtacks out of his back everyday before ultimately informing the duo that they are cut from The Learning Tree. After this we head to another commercial break.
NJPW On AXS TV Is Next, No Surrender Lineup
As we settle back in from the break, the commentators tell us to stay tuned for NJPW On AXS TV, which immediately follows tonight's show.
From there, the duo run down the currently advertised lineup for the IMPACT No Surrender show this coming weekend.
Violent By Design vs. The Bullet Club
After that, we hear the familiar sounds of the entrance theme of Violent By Design. Out comes Eric Young, Joe Doering and Deaner.
The trio settles in the ring and their music fades down. Now The Bullet Club music plays and out comes The Guerrillas Of Destiny and Jay White.
We hear the bell sound and it's time for this six-man main event, which the commentators mention has a "big fight feel" to it.
White and Young start things out and we see King Switch jump out into the offensive lead. G.O.D. hits the ring after Tama Tonga tags in.
G.O.D. hit a big double team spot and then Doering tags in for VBD. The Bullet Club sends all three VBD members out to the floor as we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.
We settle back in from the break and see that VBD has taken over on offense following a spot on the floor during the commercials.
Their offensive momentum doesn't last for long, however, as White and G.O.D. once again turn the tables on VBD. They have trouble finishing this one off and VBD ends up in the offensive driver's seat once again.
Young looks for his pile-driver finisher but doesn't get it. Instead, G.O.D. shift things back into their favor, setting up White for his finisher, which leads to The Bullet Club picking up the big win.
After the match, the theme for The Good Brothers hits and out comes Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows with their tag team titles in hand. They raise them in the air as G.O.D. looks on from the ring while the commentators plug their title match showdown and the Jay White vs. Eric. Young bout for the No Surrender show this weekend.
That's how this week's show goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!
Winners: The Bullet Club
