IMPACT Wrestling On AXS TV Recap (06/16): Josh Alexander And Eric Young Slammiversary Contract Signing

IMPACT Wrestling recently held the latest episode of their flagship show, where the show's main event segment saw IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander and Eric Young sign their IMPACT World Title Matchup contract for Slammiversary.

- Laredo Kid def. Blake Christian in a Before The IMPACT Match.

- IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans def. Jordynne Grace and Mia Yim.

- We then head backstage, where Chelsea Green says that she and Deonna Purrazzo will be working together in the Queen Of The Mountain Match at Slammiversary. Gia Miller then asks what will happen if it comes down to the two of them in which Purrazzo responds, “There can only be one Queen Of The Mountain”.

- We then get another backstage segment, where Garrett Bischoff and Wes Briscoe of the Aces & Eights make a surprise return to IMPACT Wrestling. While having an interview with Gia Miller, they are interrupted by Honor No More. Things would almost get physical and Garrett Bischoff tells IMPACT management and former Aces & Eights member D’Lo Brown that they want to fight Honor No More tonight.

- We then get a video package looking at the IMPACT World Title Match between Josh Alexander and Eric Young for this Sunday's IMPACT Slammiversary.

- Trey Miguel def. "Speedball" Mike Bailey.

- We then get a video package looking at the Monster's Ball Match between Sami Callihan and Moose for this Sunday's IMPACT Slammiversary.

- Masha Slamovich def. Alisha. After the match, Gisele Shaw comes to the aid of Alisha as Masha Slamovich stares her down.

- We then get a backstage segment, where Taya Valkyrie convinces Rosemary that they need to work together in order to capture the IMPACT Knockouts World Tag Team Championships from The Influence this coming Sunday at Slammiversary.

- IMPACT World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) def. Bullet Club (IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White and Chris Bey).

- We then get a video package looking at one of the most notorious match types in IMPACT Wrestling history, which is the Reverse Battle Royal.

- We then get a backstage segment, where Raj Singh and Shera get into a verbal altercation with Johnny Swinger and Zicky Dice over who is going to be victorious in the Reverse Battle Royal at Slammiversary but Swinger isn’t aware of the unique set of rules.

- It is then revealed that NWA’s Nick Aldis will be the fourth member of the IMPACT Originals team against Honor No More at Slammiversary this Sunday.

- Honor No More (Kenny King and Vincent) def. Aces & Eights (Garrett Bischoff and Wes Briscoe).

- After the match, Honor No More surround D’Lo Brown in the ring, but Brown fights back and hits a thunderous Sky High on Kenny King but Matt Taven and Mike Bennett make their way down the ring. Honor No More then has the numbers advantage until the Motor City Machine Guns and Frankie Kazarian make the save, sending Honor No More retreating.

- We then get a contract signing between IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander and Eric Young Sign for their IMPACT World Championship Match at Slammiversary. IMPACT Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore is in the ring to officiate the contract signing for the Slammiversary main event. Eric Young says he doesn’t care that Slammiversary is a 20 year celebration for IMPACT, the only thing he cares about is the future and that future has him as the IMPACT World Champion. Josh Alexander then tells Young that they both owe everything they have to IMPACT Wrestling. Eric Young then accuses him of being a liar and says that at Slammiversary, he is going to open his eyes to the truth. Both men then sign the contract as tensions begin to escalate. Josh Alexander then says that the Eric Young who inspired him as a professional wrestler would be disgusted at the man he’s become. Eric Young then takes a shot at Josh Alexander as all hell breaks loose. Scott D’Amore then takes Deaner off his feet with a left hand but gets blindsided by Eric Young who cracks the VBD flagpole over his back. Violent By Design then tear up the ring, exposing the wooden beams beneath the mat. Eric Young then spikes Josh Alexander with a Piledriver on the exposed wood. Violent By Design stands tall as the final IMPACT Wrestling before Slammiversary goes off the air.
