Impact Wrestling Results - (12/8/2020)

Show Opening

The December 8, 2020 edition of Impact Wrestling kicks off with a video clip showing a replay of what happened between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley in this past week’s AEW Dynamite main event. As we return to the arena, we return to the ring where the first match-up of the evening is set to begin!

Outside Of Arena

The camera takes us outside of the arena where a bus is shown in the parking area. We see Josh says he’s going to have an exclusive interview with Kenny Omega tonight. We then return to the inside of the arena as we see preparations for the first match-up of the evening!

Josh Alexander (w/ Ethan Page) vs. Chris Sabin (w/ Alex Shelley)

As we prepare for the first match-up of the evening, the referee separates tonight's two competitors inside the ring before signaling for the bell. The bell rings, and the first match-up of the evening is officially underway! Chris and Josh run the ropes before Chris hits several arm drags into a Straight Arm Bar before Josh hits a Rolling Senton before Kneeing Chris in the midsection.

Next we see Josh hits a Back Breaker as he follows up with a cover, attempting to finish the match quickly. Chris is able to get his shoulder up in time as the referee gets to the two. Josh then knees Chris in the side of the face and locks in a Rear Chin Lock. Chris struggles momentarily before he finally manages to hit a stunner on Josh to get free. Chris however, rolls through into a school boy for the cover and the two.

Chris rocks Josh with a kick and gets another cover for two again after landing a Crucifix into a Dragon Screw before getting yet another pin-fall attempt, however only getting a two count off of a Cradle. Chris hits a Suicide Dive and sends Josh backwards onto the ramp when Josh rolls out of the ring before tossing him back inside and hitting a Diving Cross Body for the two.

Next we see both Josh and Chris exchange Standing Switches before Josh catches Chris when he goes for a Hurricanrana and Powerbombs Chris onto his knee for two. Josh hits an Overhead Belly to Back Suplex. Chris counters with a Dropkick to the back of Josh's neck. We then see Chris follow up with a Shining Wizard. Next, Josh drops Chris with a Rip Cord Forearm before arguing with Ethan over how to finish the match. Ethan then tells Josh to go for a Butterfly Suplex. Instead, Chris lands a Jack Knife Cover for the three count pin and win for tonight's first match-up of the evening!

Winner: Chris Sabin

After the Match

Following the match, we see Chris Sabian with Alex Shelley as Sabian celebrates his victory in tonight's match.

Announcer's Table

We then head to the announcer's table where Josh and Madison talk about what Kenny and Don did Wednesday night and how he's going to interview them about their goals and why Kenny is showing up in IMPACT.

Backstage

Next, we head backstage where the camera zooms up onto Chris Bey as he tries to talk to Moose ahead of their tag-team match-up later tonight. Instead of making a plan or discussing anything, instead Moose threatens Chris. Finally, Chris tells Moose that he should be nicer to him, especially after he defeats Rich Swann for the IMPACT World Championship at Final Resolution Saturday night. With that, we head to commercial break!

Paid Advertisement (During Commercial Break) - AXS TV AEW President Tony Khan and commentator Tony Schiavone

During the break on AXS TV AEW President Tony Khan and commentator Tony Schiavone show up on a paid ad and says that he doesn't like how Kenny won the title. Tony then invites Don to join Kenny tomorrow before breaking down the card for Dynamite tomorrow night. Tony then jokingly addresses rumors that he could even buy IMPACT Wrestling if he wants to.

We return to the ring as both competitors make their way down the ramp consecutively as their entrance theme plays them in one by one. Now inside the ring, the referee signals for the bell, the bell rings, and the next match is officially underway!! Myers and TJP meet in the center of the ring where they lock up and Brian Myers pushes TJP off him. They lock up again and Myers grabs the arm of TJP but TJP escapes the hold and hits Myers with a dropkick.

Myers looks for a test of strength and Myers brings him down to the mat. TJP then picks the ankle of Myers bringing him down to the mat for a one count. TJP continues the offensive and locks Myers in a submission but Myers makes it to the bottom rope. Myers stays in the ropes and TJP follows him in and eats a punch to the gut. Myers follows it up by putting TJP in the corner and stomps a mudhole in him. TJP fights back leading to a Hurricanrana sending Myers to the floor. TJP follows him to the floor and brings him back in the ring and looks to go high risk but Myers clips his ankles and sends TJP crashing to the floor as we head to commercial break!

As we return from commercial break, We come back from break and Myers looks to charge TJP in the corner but TJP jumps up and hits a tornado DDT and both guys are down. We then see TJP land a Springboard off the second turnbuckle, where he successfully takes down Myers. To keep the momentum build, TJP then follows up with Three Amingos. Finally, TJP looks for the Mamba Splash but Myers blocks it and knocks TJP crashing to the canvas.

Next we see Myers look for a Clothesline but as he heads in, TJP senses the upcoming move and quickly counters into a Kneebar but Myers makes it to the ropes. Myers then hits a Hotshot on TJP and reenters the ring to continue. TJP first takes a step back as a assess the impending move and his surroundings, then counters into a Back Suplex. Close to the end, we see a successful Mamba Splash for a near-fall. Brian Myers locks in a submission and tosses TJP into the referee leading to a Clothesline for the win.

Winner: Brian Myers

After the Match

Immediately following the match, we see Cody Deaner more focused than ever heading into his match with Eric Young. Deaner says he has to do this alone but Jake says he will be out there to protect him from Joe Doering. Deaner tells Jake to promise him that he won't get involved in the match.

Inside the Ring - Rohit Raju

We come back to the show to see Rohit Raju rub in TJP's face about his loss to Brian Myers. Rohit says that at Final Resolution it will be the final Defeat Rohit Challenge and is open to anyone but TJP. TJP then wishes Rohit luck in the Defeat Rohit Challenge.

Cody Deaner vs.

As both competitors head to their pre-determined corners, the referee heads to the center of the ring and looks to the ring announcer and bell ringer with his hand up in the air. The referee then glances at both competitors before turning and signaling for the bell. The bell rings and this match is officially underway!

To start things off, Cody heads out of his corner and runs right at Young. Young sensing Cody's plan of attack lands a Back Elbow to stop Deaner in his tracks! Deaner back to his feet, comes back with a Back Body Drop. Young looks to fight back for a second but Deaner is able to overpower and take down Young. Deaner then puts Young in the corner and begins striking Young before whipping him into the opposite turnbuckle.

Young is able to turn it around and put Deaner between the ropes and chokes him out a bit. Eric Young follows up with a death valley driver for a near fall. Young looks to follow it up, but chooses otherwise and counters into a roll up on Deaner for a near fall. Deaner is able to get his shoulder up in time, both men back to their feet as the match continues. Young then takes down Deaner and begins to talk trash.

Finally, Deaner says he is not a nobody and begins to catch a second wind as he starts to fire up. Deaner heads in on Young and connects with an Elbow followed by a Scoop Slam. Deaner then goes up top and comes up empty leading to a piledriver from Young for the pin fall victory.

Winner: Cody Deaner

After the Match

Young and Doering look for the post match beatdown. Cousin Jake looks to make the save but gets taken out by Doering. Rhino then comes out to make the save and clears the ring with a lead pipe.

Backstage - Bravo

We then see Bravo backstage trying to get at Larry D after he shot him. Dreamer says that he will handle the situation. Larry then challenges Dreamer to a match at Final Resolution. If Larry wins he is a free man. If Dreamer wins Larry goes downtown. We then head to commercial break.

Scott D'Amore's Office

As we return to the show, a camera follows as Tommy Dreamer enters the office of Scott D'Amore. Dreamer informs D'Amore that he is concerned with Kenny being on IMPACT tonight.

Rosemary & Taya vs. Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee

We return to the ring for our first women's match of the evening. The referee signals for the bell. The bell rings and our next match-up of the evening is officially underway! Rosemary and Deonna start off the match. Deonna immediately grabs the arm of Rosemary but Rosemary is able to push Deonna into the ropes but Deonna holds onto the arm. Rosemary looks to break free but Deonna immediately grabs the arm again.

Neither woman wants to give in, so finally the ladies break apart and head to their corners where they simultaneously tag in their tag-team partners. Taya takes down Lee with a crossbody but Lee fights back with kicks to the midsection and puts Taya in the corner and follows it up by dragging her to the corner and tags out to Deonna. Purrazzo continues the onslaught before tagging out to Kimber Lee and locks in a submission hold.

Taya then fights back with shots to the midsection both ladies make it back to their feet. Taya then lights up Lee with forearm shots backing her into the ropes. Lee is able to stop Taya from tagging out to Rosemary and tags out to Deonna. Purrazzo then continues the attack and makes another quick tag to Lee who comes in and chops the chest of Taya before whipping her into the rope. Taya looks to tag out to Rosemary but Lee tries to stop her. Taya makes the tag and Rosemary clears house. Lee tags out to Deonna but Rosemary takes her down too.

Deonna looks for an armbar but Rosemary looks to counter but Deonna puts a stop to it with an axe kick. Lee comes in and takes out Taya. Deonna and Lee stand in the ring gloating leading to a spear from Taya to Lee. Deonna is then tied up with Rosemary leading to Taya taking out Lee. The finish of the match sees Taya hit a split and Deonna kicks Lee in the face and Rosemary hits a double under hook sit out powerbomb for the pin fall victory.

Winners: Rosemary & Taya

After the Match

Tenille and Kaleb walk up to Alisha with team ideas but Alisha says she's too busy dealing with going after Sami. Tenille and Kaleb kick her off the team as we head to commercial break.

Scott D'Amore Announcement

We come back to the show and we see Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee yell at Scott D'Amore about putting so much on her plate. Scott D'Amore them announces Deonna vs Rosemary for the Knockouts Championship at Final Resolution.

In-Ring - Sami Callahan

After D'Amore's announcement, we return to the ring where Sami Callahan stands, ready to make a statement. Callahan then states that he is the highest rated wrestler in all of IMPACT. Sami says he made Impact the company it is today. Sami then shows the moment he hit Eddie in the face with a baseball bat a few years ago.

We then see Sami attempt to show the footage of where he hit Eddie again from two weeks ago, which prompts Alisha Edwards to come out. As Edwards makes her way to the top of the ramp, Eddie shows up and attacks Sami, sending us to commercial break!

Backstage - Eddie & Alisha

As we return from commercial break, we see both Eddie and Alisha backstage. Alisha says that she helped him take care of his problem and now it's time for them to take care of her problem.

Main Event Match-Up
Chris Bey & Moose vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack

We head into the ring where both competitors are in their corners prepared for tonight's match up. The referee looks to both competitors before turning his attention to the announcer's desk where he nods and gives the signal for the bell to ring. The bell chimes and our main event match up is officially underway! Both Swann and Moose start off the match. Bey then tags in with a blind tag. They lock up and Bey goes behind with a Waist Lock Rich shoves him off as Bey comes off the ropes and rolls through and Swann sends Bey to the floor and follows him to the outside and hits him in the mouth. Swann then rolls him back in the ring and hits Bey with a dropkick as we go to break.

As we return from the commercial break, Willie Mack Nd Moose are legal. Mack hits Moose with a dropkick out of the corner and continues the onslaught on Moose. Mack looks to take Moose down but Moose puts a stop to that and drops Mack. Moose then picks Mack off the mat and hits a standing Rick Bottom. Moose then tags out to Bey and throws Bey on top of Mack for a near fall. Bey continues the onslaught with hits to the midsection.

Bey brings Mack to his corner as he tags out to Moose. Moose then attacks the midsection and the ribs of Mack. Moose then brings Mack to the center of the ring and hits Mack multiple times in the head. Moose tags out to Bey who flips in onto Mack for a near fall. Moose then makes a blind tag and continues to destroy Willie. Moose picks up Mack but then turns his attention to Swann which allows for Willie to hit two stunners leading to Swann making the tag.

Swann ducks the clothesline taking out Bey but then eventually gets taken down by a powerbomb from Moose. Bey then comes in but Swann stops him and sets him up on the top and follows in but eats a boot from Bey. Moose then comes in but eats a boot from Swann. Rich then takes down Bey with a Hurricanrana onto Moose for a near fall. Willie comes back and tags in looking for the six star splash but comes up empty. Moose then grounds and pounds Mack leading to Bey getting the three count pin and win.

Winners: Chris Bey & Moose

Josh and Madison

We then go to Josh and Madison before we see the bus once more as we go to commercial break one last time. When Impact returns, Kenny Omega will partake in a one-on-one interview, stay tuned!

Parking Lot

As we return from the final commercial break, we see that Rich is trying to leave the arena only to be told by security that the champion has the parking lot blocked off. Rich says that Moose needs to stop pretending he's champion before he's informed that Kenny Omega is the champion he's talking about. Josh then walks back outside where he's verified to be on the list, but the IMPACT champion is not... which infuriates Rich.

On The Bus - Kenny Omega Interview

We head onto the bus alongside Josh as he sits down before Don and Omega come out. All three sit down as Don and Omega switch out the name plate on the AEW World Championship. Josh talks about what happened Wednesday before asking Don and Kenny how long the plan has been in the works. They toss Jon's nameplate onto the floor before Don states that it all started twenty-seven years ago when he was trained by The Golden Sheik; Omega's uncle.

Don talks about how he met Omega when he was ten and how he's always looked after Kenny like the Sheik looked after him. Don mocks everyone thinking that he came back to wrestling to be a commentator, but it was his plan to be there when Kenny won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Don continues on to share that he and Omega are family and how they changed the course of wrestling history several times in Omega's career. Josh asks what happened to tarnish their legacy. Don says that they set the course of history right when Omega took the title from Jon Moxley. Kenny reverses the roles and asks Josh what he would do if someone attacked the man he saw as his father.

Kenny Omega says that Jon broke the gentleman's agreement when he attacked Don and that he took revenge on Jon for what he did before talking about how he's on the list of top matches anywhere in the world. Kenny gets very agitated and says that they're there because they can, they live in style and Kenny says that he collected comic books as a child.

Omega continues to share that he loves traveling and collecting titles. He then adds that they have to leave to make their way to Jacksonville, FL, to make it to Daily's place for Dynamite tomorrow night.

Kenny then teases what will happen tomorrow night before saying his signature "Goodbye, and goodnight!" to end the interview.
