-- Yesterday, WWE made surprise talent cuts yesterday letting go five superstars including former WWE champion Jinder Mahal and as expected, the backstage reaction amongst wrestlers was not positive.
-- PWInsiderelite.com reports that when talent woke up this morning and learned of the releases, there was said to be great sympathy, especially for Mahal and Li who were both well liked backstage. Some people within WWE openly wondered what the releases of Mahal and Indus Sher at the same time means for the company's strategy in India as both were used heavily as ambassadors there - a country whose fanbase WWE publicly stated that they wanted to tap into.
-- As far as Mahal goes, some talent commented that he had been around for years and was given literally nothing to do. When creative finally came up with something for him this year where Mahal shared a segment with The Rock, the consensus feeling was that he "nailed" his chance, delivered a strong promo, yet the company never followed up with anything for him to do. The backstage joke is that Mahal is going to now end up in AEW and feud with CEO Tony Khan over the summer.
