After becoming Ms. Money In The Bank for 2023 with her victory in the women's ladder match at the premium live event this past Saturday at the O2 Arena in London, England, Iyo Sky joins a short list of Japanese stars who have accomplished this feat.
Prior to Sky's victory on Saturday, Asuka had been the only Japanese women's wrestling star to win the match, but now Sky joins that short list.
"Io Shirai (WWE's Iyo Sky) made history by becoming only the second Japanese wrestler to win Money In The Bank in WWE," Monthly Puroresu wrote. "With Asuka's previous success in WWE and Riho, and Hikaru Shida's accomplishments in AEW, it's safe to say that Japanese Joshis are doing quite well even in major US promotions on a global level, even in major US promotions."
