Jeff Jarrett On WWE Backlash: France: "The Star Of The Weekend Was The Crowd"

The crowd at WWE Backlash: France this past Saturday is widely considered to be among the best crowds for a big pro wrestling event of all-time.

During the latest episode of his "My World with Jeff Jarrett" podcast, the AEW star and WWE Hall of Fame legend spoke about the wild crowd inside the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and WWE Backlash: France this past Friday and Saturday.

"You know how big of a fan I am of international professional wrestling, in that we, as in the United States, we’ve always been that export," Jarrett said, when talking about how international wrestling crowds are special. "Our show [is] made here in America, it goes out to Europe, it goes out all over the world, and has for years and years. So the folks, they’re not spoiled or jaded, or they don’t get to have it weekly in their town. What's the saying, familiarity breeds contempt?"

Jarrett continued, "It just goes to show you, just the electricity and vibe, and I was telling this story earlier, it’s a buzz just about [how] the star of the weekend was the crowd. That is a European crowd. When you do autograph sessions at the big events, you’ll have folks from all kinds of countries. When they come to sign autographs, the Europeans will tell you, ‘Hey Jeff, I’m from,’ and then fill in the blank. All the European countries, those fans that are really, really into it, they are proud of where they’re from, and I think in a way, those folks took it to another level because they knew the whole world was watching. It’s like they were almost performing for the whole world."
