Joey Mercury Reportedly Files Lawsuit Against Ring Of Honor

It was recently reported that former WWE Superstar and pro wrestling veteran Joey Mercury has filed a lawsuit in the state of Maryland against ROH and Sinclair Broadcasting for forced resignation and for being misclassified as an independent contractor. Mercury reveals he was paid substantially less than other talents performing the same services for similar wrestling promotions. Joey also claims that he was misclassified as an independent contractor.

Joey Mercury was allegedly forced to resign due to the company’s lack of concern for their wrestlers. As indicated in the lawsuit, Joey Mercury expressed his concerns with ROH and Sinclair Broadcasting a number of times regarding the lack of safety protocols and available medical supervision during their matches. Joey Mercury worked with Ring Of Honor from May 2018 to October 2019 as a trainer and agent.
