John Cena Promising "History Making News" He Will Share At WWE Backlash This Weekend

WWE confirmed that now retired John Cena will be appearing at Backlash this weekend and now the legend has teased "history making news" that he will drop.

Cena tweeted this morning that the news he is set to share will change the WWE experience for wrestlers an fans and current rumors suggest that it will probably be related to WWE's new initiative, WWE Club which is sort of a premier VIP membership that the company is looking to roll out this year.

With an annual membership, fans who purchase the gold tier will receive perks like access to pre-sales for WWE events, exclusive merchandise, and bonus content like inside scoops and behind-the-scenes footage. Since retiring, WWE has used Cena to try and market the new program.

"It’s official! I’m headed to #WWEBacklash! After months of planning and effort, I am SO excited to break some history-making news! I can’t promise it’ll be perfect but I can promise it will change the WWE experience for Superstars and fans!
