“Jumping” Johnny DeFazio Recently Passed Away At The Age Of 80

According to a report by Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, wrestling legend “Jumping” Johnny DeFazio passed away recently at the age of 80 after battling cancer for a number of years. Johnny DeFazio was a star from the Pittsburg area, who's wrestling career spanned from the 1960s into the 1980s.

DeFazio was a huge fan favorite in a number of professional wrestling territories including Spectator Sports and Capitol Sports, which was eventually made into WWWF (the World Wide Wrestling Federation), then into the WWF (the World Wrestling Federation). During his time in the WWWF, DeFazio won the WWWF International Tag Team Title with Geeto Mongol and the WWWF Jr. Heavyweight Title on four occasions.

After leaving the professional wrestling industry, DeFazio got into politics, where he was a longtime member and a former President of the Allegheny County Council.
