Vince McMahon had pulled Kross from television since he hadn’t gotten over within the company.
-- The plan for Kross when he was in NXT was to groom him to eventually be a major star on either Raw or Smackdown due to his size and physique, and he was subsequently pushed hard on NXT. However, upon being moved to the main roster, he was beaten twice on television on back-to-back weeks before he was repackaged with a “Demolition-like costume.” When that didn’t go over as well, Vince then pulled him off TV again, concluding that the gimmick wasn’t going to work either. Kross took a shot at his attire earlier this morning when responding to a fan who asked if he would let him have the helmet:
