Kazuchika Okada Reveals He Will Be Taking Time Off From The Company

The finals of the NJPW G1 Climax 32 Tournament saw Kazuchika Okada defeat Will Ospreay and due to his win, Okada has now earned the right to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at their Wrestle Kingdom 17 Event on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 from Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Okada spoke with the company's official website on a number of topics such as how he is feeling following his win in the finals of the G1 Climax Tournament over Ospreay.

Kazuchika Okada said:

“I woke up this morning, and the first thing I felt was gratitude. Gratitude to my opponent yesterday, Will Ospreay, but also to all of the wrestlers who were involved in the tournament, and the staff and fans that made everything possible. I really felt that it was because of everyone’s efforts that I was able to perform at the level I perform and win.”

Kazuchika Okada also spoke about how he will be taking time off from the promotion to spend time with his family following the birth of his new-born son just 24 hours ago.

Kazuchika Okada said:

“I’ve been lucky enough to receive some paternity leave from the company, which I’m very grateful for, and as I take a little bit of time off, I’ll be refreshing and then coming back to kick ass in the next tour.”
