-- One of AEW's top stars and in fact, one of their EVPs - Kenny Omega - remains out of action indefinitely after undergoing abdominal surgery. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Omega has begun training with "moderate intensity" but isn't back any time soon in terms of an in-ring return as he continues to have weakness in the abdominal area and is unable to take any bumps. There remains not even an estimate on when he will be back in action.
-- Omega had been battling a potentially life-threatening bout with diverticulitis that forced him out of action in late December. He underwent surgery this May but prior to that returned for a brief return to TV to participate in any angle where The Elite laid him out, explaining his absence from a storyline perspective. When Omega does eventually return, it is It’s expected that he will renew his rivalry with Kazuchika Okada when he’s able to wrestle again as Okada took his spot in The Elite when Omega was kicked out.
