Top NJPW Star KENTA is the person who created the GTS, but there have been a number of wrestlers that have used the move as their finisher over the past several years, though none of these wrestlers have been more popular than former WWE and AEW World Champion CM Punk. KENTA has called out Punk for years to face him in a one-on-one match, but they have yet to cross paths and the Japanese wrestling legend recently took to his Twitter account and said that he will only face CM Punk in a match for the right amount of money.
A Twitter user posted a video from an old CM Punk interview, where the former AEW World Champion said that the GTS was actually stolen from KENTA. The video also featured a bunch of tweets from CM Punk’s AEW Collision return and KENTA saying that he has that date free. The main event for AEW Collision is already official and CM Punk will be a part of the massive match, but we could still see CM Punk face KENTA down the line if they come into terms on a deal.
