As reported earlier by Matt Boone, an announcement was made that next Friday's SmackDown episode will be a special “Go Back” edition of the show and ever since the blockbuster news was revealed, the fans have been wondering if the company will bring back the Giant Fist that was synonymous with the Friday Night SmackDown Brand from 2001 until 2008.
A fan even took to Twitter and asked Kevin Owens if he would be willing to jump off the Giant Fist to create a memorable moment, to which Owens simply replied, “Yes.”
According to an article posted on WWE.com, Friday Night SmackDown had no choice but to get rid of the Giant Fist after WWE programming went high-definition in early 2008. Since its' start on August 16th, 2001 all the way until January 18th, 2008, the blue brand stage has had a number of variations of the Giant Fist and a Mirrors Set.
There is no word yet on if WWE will bring back the Giant Fist on next week's show, but one match that has already been announced for SmackDown will see a WrestleMania 37 rematch take place between Cesaro and Seth Rollins.
