WWE superstar Kofi Kingston recently spoke to TalkSport's Alex McCarthy where The New Day member and current tag champion gives his thoughts on The Beast, Brock Lesnar. Kingston begins by praising Lesnar as someone who has an awesome mind for the business, even stating that Lesnar will never get the full credit he deserves for his ideas.
I think a lot of people don't understand...you see Brock Lesnar on TV and you obviously see The Beast. You see a man who is physically daunting, physically dominating, but he has an awesome mind for the business. I feel like he'll never get that credit that he deserves for that. Someone doesn't get to be in the WWE for decades without having a great mind.
Kingston would then go on to explain why him being squashed by Lesnar at the SmackDown premiere on FOX only helped tell a bigger story in this year's Royal Rumble, especially the rub the eventual winner Drew McIntyre would get eliminating Brock after a dominant performance in the first half of the match.
The whole first half of the Rumble Brock was the one who was throwing everybody out, only for Drew McIntyre to beat him at the end and throw him out. If it wasn't built like that it wouldn't have meant as much for Drew. So you think, "Okay why did that happen?" Brock did this to elevate Drew and give him credibility as a champion. Now Drew beats Brock at WrestleMania. The pieces of the story were told the right way.
