Konosuke Takeshita recently spoke with Tokyo Sports for an in-depth interview covering all things pro wrestling.
During the interview, the Japanese wrestling star and current KO-D Champion spoke about a potential return to AEW, possibly defending his KO-D title in the promotion, as well as how he is no longer interested in going to WWE.
Featured below are some of the highlights from the interview where he touches on these topics with his thoughts.
On how he hopes to return to AEW soon and interest in defending his KO-D championship in the promotion: "The world is a big place. This year, I’m aiming for the TV show in AEW. I think I can get involved in the top ranks if I have the chance, and I think I can go there as a KO-D champion, so I’m ready to fight for the title in the United States."
On how he reached out to AEW in 2020 on his own: "The year 2020 was a tough time for me personally. I was injured a lot. So, at the end of [2020], I decided to make [2021] the year I would move on. So I contacted AEW on my own without telling the company."
On how he no longer has an interest in going to WWE: "To be honest, my interest in WWE has waned. Because at that time, the only ‘major league’ was WWE. Without a doubt, AEW is probably the most attractive professional [wrestling company] now."
