Kota Ibushi Posts Update Following Leg Injury On AEW Collision; Shares Tony Khan's Message

Kota Ibushi suffered a serious injury during this week's AEW Collision in a match against Josh Alexander when both wrestlers tumbled from the top rope and Ibushi landed badly, breaking his femur.

The oft-injured star posted to Instagram today describing the injury and revealing that he has already undergone successful surgery. According to Ibushi, the fractured femur was so bad that it pierced through his muscle. Following surgery, said he experiences pain and is only able to move his toes at the moment. He noted that if he suffers another serious injury, he would live like a normal man, presumably a hint that retirement could be in the future.

Ibushi also shared that AEW President Tony Khan sent him flowers and a letter in the hospital and he stated that because when someone comes through with a gesture like that, you can't just quit. Ibushi didn't reveal how long he would be sidelined but threw out the timelines "one year or a year and a half" to recover to be back in action but that he would try his best to come back. The note from Khan read: "WE ARE ALL THINKING OF YOU AND SENDING OUR BEST WISHES FOR A SMOOTH AND SPEEDY RECOVERY. – TONY KHAN."

The Instagram translation of his post reads as follows:

Not again.
Again?

He's just badly injured. This is a fractured femur and broken bone trying to break through the meat. I would say stop,

Surgery は nothing done!! ️!! ️
I'm hoping to live as a common man from now on (if it's my next major injury).

I can't believe the president sent me a bouquet of flowers and a letter directly. If they do this, they won't quit again!! !!️!!️ I️ cried
I don't know if it will take a year or a year and a half but I'll do something. Now I'm in severe pain only working my toes. I was surprised that I felt painful. Mr.Tony Khan.. Just have to keep going👊
